Artificial Intelligence for Europe was issued to strengthen the EU’s global standing amid rising competition from the US and China and to address ethical, social, and economic challenges posed by AI. It outlines measures to scale up research and investment, support labour transitions and digital skills, and establish an ethical and legal framework anchored in EU values and fundamental rights. By launching the European AI Alliance and paving the way for a coordinated plan with Member States, it set the foundation for the EU’s long-term AI strategy and international leadership.
