Prohibited AI practices - AI uses that are expressly forbidden within the Union because they endanger fundamental rights, human dignity, or safety. The EU AI Act prohibits, among others, the ‘use of an AI system that deploys subliminal techniques beyond a person’s consciousness’ and those that exploit 'any of the vulnerabilities of a natural person or a specific group of persons’, as well as certain forms of social scoring and untargeted biometric data scraping. (EU AI Act, Art. 5(1); Recital 29).
